Thinking about kiosk ROI without invented numbers
2026-08-20 · 6 min
Revenue from a kiosk is pages × price × days the machine is actually usable. Usable is the hard part: paper, jams, network, and whether students trust it.
Labour saved is real when someone currently stands at a counter taking files. It is imaginary when nobody was doing that job. Do not count a full salary against a machine in an empty corridor.
The calculator on this site multiplies the inputs you type. It does not know your rent, toner contract, or downtime. Treat the output as a worksheet, then talk to sales with your own logs.
If a vendor guarantees profit on a slide, ask for the paper capacity, the service response, and who fills the trays on Sunday.
